Calvin Schmidtke…who is he Anyways?

I’m reading the news today and I came across this story about Calvin Schmidtke. In case you don’t know who Calvin Schmidtke is he is a top quarterback prospect at washington state university. Now the reason this got my attention I can’t explain but it got me to wonder, “is this really newsworthy?” So what, Calvin Schmidtke did this or that. Who cares? He’s just some kid who plays great football. But unfortunately this is the kind of culture we live in. I call it the “Home Theater System Generation”. It seems like the only thing the guys talk about at the office is their new home theatre systems. I love entertainment and all, in fact I love great entertainment but sometimes I feel that as a whole our society is becoming like that of ancient Rome. All we care about is home theater systems and renting movies and lets not forget about how everyone hangs all over any gossip that has to do with the entertainment industry namely celebrity gossip, which I absolutely hate.

Calvin Schmidtke Who Cares?

No wonder there are no more geniuses in our time as opposed to times of old. Where are our Mozarts and Einsteins? No we have Calvin Schmidtke and his arrest record to think about. You know, when I think of the enormous amount of time people waste on things like renting movies and chilling to their home theater system it is rather disgusting. That’s why I say it’s becoming the “home theater system” generation. All we care about is sitting down on the couch and seeing what the celebs are doing. But is Calvin Schmidtke even a celebrity? sports fans go too crazy over college and high school athletes. We have to get it in perspective. Life is about more than just entertainment centers and home theater systems and renting movies, and watching nascar. Honestly, Calvin Schmidtke has been arrested a few times for traffic violations… I can’t believe I even know that. And if I hear some one at the office mention the words Plasma TV or Big screen TV I’m gonna puke!
